Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism which reduces stop impairing the sheet feeding performance more than necessary by continuing the sheet feeding operation within an available range even when failure occurs in a portion of a sheet feeding device.SOLUTION: A sheet feeding device includes: a first loading part which is loaded with sheets and has a sheet feeding port for feeding sheets to an image formation apparatus; a second loading part which supplies the loaded sheet bundle to the first loading part; movement means which moves the sheet bundle loaded on the second loading part to the first loading part when there is a shortage of the sheets in the first loading part; and detection means which detects failure of the movement means. The sheet feeding device makes the second loading part unavailable and makes the first loading part available when detecting the failure in the movement means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
