Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make density difference on joints inconspicuous in divided recordings made on a plurality of recording papers, and to improve quality of the recording by providing a vertical scanning means that makes scanning in the direction in which an array of ejection ports is arranged and a horizontal scanning control means that enables the horizontal scanning to start either from one or the other starting positions provided on both ends in the direction of the horizontal scanning.
CONSTITUTION: Prior to starting of scanning on lower half of a copy, standing of recording paper is inquired whether it is on the odd numbered place or not, and in the case where the standing is on the odd numbered place, a horizontal scanning unit 53 with a CCD sensor 12 is set on the home position-side on the operator's side by operation of a home position sensor 55 before starting of the recording. Then, reading of images for one line is started as the unit 53 moves in the direction of horizontal scanning A. The unit 53 of a reading part 15 reaches the home position on the other end by operation of a home position sensor 59. After the reading of images for one line is finished, a vertical scanning unit 57 is moved, by operation of a vertical scanning motor M2, in the amount of feed exactly the same as the width of the reading to the vertical scanning direction for one line of reading. Joints of the images outputted respectively on the lower half of the recording paper on the odd numbered standing and the upper half of the recording paper on the even numbered standing can be aligned together with the ends of the outputted images.
