Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image abnormality due to developer shortage in a developer supply unit even at the time of change of the image formation speed by reducing the fluctuations in the developer quantity at the time of switching of the image formation speed without adding a new member in an image formation apparatus having a development device in which the developer supply unit and a developer stirring unit are arranged in the substantially vertical direction.SOLUTION: A development device 100 includes: a developer carrier such as a development roller 101; a developer supply unit 103 which is arranged on the lower side of the developer carrier; and a developer stirring unit 105 which is arranged on the lower side of the developer supply unit, and can execute the first mode such as the standard mode in which image formation is performed when the peripheral speed of an image carrier such as a photoreceptor 201 is at the first peripheral speed and the second mode such as the slow mode in which the image formation is performed at the second peripheral speed slower than the peripheral speed in the first mode. In the second mode, the ratio of the peripheral speed of the developer carrier to the peripheral speed of the image carrier is made to be larger than that of the first mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
