To provide an image formation apparatus configured to be able to suppress adhesion of ink to a member used for transporting a recording sheet and to prevent the recording sheet from being stained.
An image formation apparatus 100 including a recording head 19 having a discharge nozzle discharging an ink droplet, transporting a recording medium 1 to a position opposed to the recording head 19, and capable of carrying out printing on the recording medium 1 comprises: a transport member 27 arranged on one side across a transport path of the recording medium 1, and used to transport the recording medium 1; and first and second pressing/transport members 27A' and 27B arranged to face the transport member 27 in an aligned fashion in a sub-scan direction across the transport path of the recording medium 1, and each capable of transporting the recording medium 1 together with the transport member 27 while putting the recording medium 1 between the first or second pressing/transport members 27A' or 27B and the transport member 27. Out of the first and second pressing/transport members 27A' and 27B, one pressing/transport member 27A' abuts on the transport member 27 during printing on the recording medium 1, and the other pressing/transport member 27B is provided to be able to contact with/separate from the transport member 27 so as to abut on the transport member 27 when a printing operation executed at a time of detecting a transport failure of the recording medium 1 stops.
