To provide an image formation device that prevents fallen toner from being adhered to a record medium upon a next image formation operation even when the toner scatters outside a development device or falls upon a reverse rotation operation.
The image formation device is configured to comprise: a plurality of image carriers 3a to 3d; development means 9; an intermediate transfer body 4; primary transfer means 10 that transfers a toner image to the intermediate transfer body; secondary transfer means 55 that transfers a toner image to a record medium S; intermediate transfer body cleaning means 15 that cleans a surface of the intermediate transfer body; and control means 75 that reversely rotates a developer carrier 34 contrary to the image formation operation upon ending of an image formation operation. The control means calculates a distance L that the intermediate transfer body 4 moves until the record medium S reaches a secondary transfer position, and rotatably moves the intermediate transfer body such that an intermediate transfer body first position PA at the most upstream in a rotation movement direction of the intermediate transfer body stays at a downstream position with respect to an intermediate transfer body second position PT at an upstream by the movement distance L from the secondary transfer position upon ending of the reverse rotation operation.
