Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device that reduces consumption of a color ink by suppressing thickening of the color ink even when monochrome printing frequency is high and reduces time for maintenance recovery operation before printing.SOLUTION: The image formation device comprises: a plurality of nozzles 410 of multiple colors for discharging ink; and a cap member 82 that covers the plurality of nozzles 410 and includes absorbers 401, 405 therein, and the cap member 82 covers the plurality of nozzles 410 during printing standby. The cap member 82 has a cap 408 for covering a black nozzle 410K, and a cap 409 for covering a color nozzle. During monochrome printing, blank discharge is periodically performed so that a black ink is selectively discharged to the cap 408 for black or the cap 409 for color.
