Abstract:
To prevent an ink ribbon from being taken out due to defect of peeling thereof from a recording medium to prevent the cut-off ink ribbon from getting jammed.SOLUTION: An image formation device, to which is detachably attached an ink ribbon cassette which comprises a feeding out-side ribbon core wound with an ink ribbon and a winding-side ribbon core that winds up the ink ribbon fed out from the feeding out-side ribbon core, which pressure-contacts a recording head to a recording medium through the ink ribbon to form an image, comprises: a guide part, provided inside the ink ribbon cassette, which can move between a first position where the part contacts the ink ribbon and a second position where the part contacts an ink ribbon lower in tension than the ink ribbon at the first position, between a space from a contact position where the part contacts the recording head to the winding-side ribbon core; a detection part for detecting a position of the guide part; and a control part that stops movement of the ink ribbon when the detection part detects that the guide part is at the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
