Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus, a method for controlling the same, and a program that can reduce the risk that the apparatus transmits wrong data without reducing the efficiency of data transmission through scanning using a document conveying device.SOLUTION: In an MFP 101, when a user designates a transmission destination and subsequently depresses a start button 406 on a scan start screen in Fig. 4 displayed on an operation unit 118, a CPU 111 determines one of document platen scanning and ADF scanning to execute with a reading unit 116. When executing the document platen scanning, the CPU displays a confirmation screen in Fig. 5 on the operation unit 118, and when the user depresses a transmission button 503 on the screen, transmits image data of a document generated through the document platen scanning to the transmission destination designated by the user. On the other hand, when executing the ADF scanning, the CPU transmits image data of the document generated through the ADF scanning to the transmission destination designated by the user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
