To facilitate detachment of a paper powder removal device from an image forming apparatus, and to minimize space dedicated for the paper powder removal device and the number of composing members.

The image forming apparatus includes: resist rollers 12 and 13 disposed upstream of a photoreceptor drum; a conveying unit 10 fixed to the main body of the apparatus and used for guiding paper; the paper powder removal device 51 for removing paper powder on paper passing between the peripheral faces of the rollers 12 and 13; a collecting tray 52a for collecting paper powder removed by the paper powder removal device 51; and an opening/closing door that opens the side of the conveying unit 10 during opening. A separation unit 46 is formed in the conveying unit 10 so that part of the conveying unit 10 can be detached. The paper removal device 51 and the collecting tray 52a are disposed in the separation unit 46. The separation unit 46 can be taken out from an area between the roller 13 and the conveying unit 10 when the opening/closing door is opened.
