Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that can immediately output a printed result without entering a maintenance operation when performing printing, and a method therefor.
This image forming apparatus 1 includes an image forming means for forming an image on a recording medium, a sensor 3 for measuring the brightness of an interior illumination, a head 4 for recording an image on a recording medium and a maintenance means for performing a maintenance operation of the head 4. The image forming means of the image forming apparatus 1 causes the maintenance means to perform the maintenance operation of the head 4 when the sensor 3 detects the lighting-on or lighting-off of the interior illumination.
