Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method which cool the inside of the apparatus in a short time when a conveyance failure is detected.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a conveyance part for conveying, along a conveyance path, a recording medium supported by a guide surface of which temperature is higher than a first temperature; a blowing part in which gas blowing ports are disposed facing the guide surface and which dries ink by blowing gas of which temperature is higher than a second temperature from the gas blowing ports; a conveyance failure detection part for detecting a conveyance failure of the recording medium in the conveyance part; and a control part which, upon detection of a conveyance failure, stops conveyance of the recording medium by the conveyance part, sets the temperature of the guide surface lower than the first temperature, and sets the temperature of gas blown from the gas blowing ports lower than the second temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
