Abstract:

To appropriately deal with a maintenance demand of an external processor connected to an image forming apparatus.

A residue deposition amount and a remaining amount of consumables in the external sheet post-processor are obtained and stored in a consumables/residues information storage part 15, and a consumables/residues information processing part 17 reads the remaining amount of the consumables and the residue deposition amount stored in the consumables/residues information storage part 15, and determines whether the status of the remaining amount of the consumables or the status of the residue deposition amount changes on the basis of the notification determination reference value stored in a consumables/residues notification determination information part 16, then, when the maintenance of various consumables and residues is necessary, the information notification part 18 notifies the necessity of the maintenance.
