Abstract:
To facilitate cleaning of liquid developer that is adhered to the surface of an intermediate transfer body.
In an image forming apparatus having the intermediate transfer body and using liquid developer, an application member (42) for applying a portion of developer recovered by the cleaning member is disposed between the secondary transfer position, where an image is transferred from the intermediate transfer body (20) to a transfer medium (25) and the cleaning position which is downstream of the secondary transfer position, in the direction of rotation of the intermediate transfer body and in which a cleaning member (23) is abutted against the intermediate transfer body.
