This image forming apparatus is equipped with a 1st recording unit A for forming the image on the sheet supplied from a 1st supply path, a 2nd recoding unit B having the different recording system from the unit A and forming the image on the sheet supplied from a 2nd supply path, a 1st ejection path for ejecting the sheet to a sheet ejection tray A10 provided between the units A and B as an ejection path for the sheet printed by the unit A, and a 2nd ejection path joined with the 2nd supply path, and a reading unit C is arranged on the 2nd supply path, whereby either appropriate recording unit is selected in accordance with the image formed on the sheet, and an image forming function is diversified while saving installation space.
