To perform image recording on sheetlike recording materials arranged in a plurality of rows and record reverse printing information at a low cost without complicating the configuration.
Cut recording papers 48 are supplied in two rows from single magazines 30, 32 or a twin magazine 34 and images are simultaneously recorded on surfaces to be exposed by a common exposure unit 50. After the image recording, the cut recording papers 48 are fed to a development section 60, where development, fixing and drying are performed. The cut recording papers 48 are then portioned out and returned into a single row in a rearrangement section 62 and the inclinations of the cut recording papers 48 are corrected during passing through a resist section 63. In a reverse printing device 64, surfaces of the cut recording papers 48 opposite to the exposed surfaces are printed with prescribed information such as print information or photographing information. The reverse-printed cut recording papers 48 are dried, fed to a sorter, and lotted every print job.
