The original reading apparatus includes: a discrimination processing section for discriminating an original whose reading and copying are inhibited; and a storage device for storing position information of a place of the original at which the original is discriminated to be the reading and copy inhibiting original, deletes only the part of the original at the position information stored in the storage device from the read electronic original image, and masks the eliminated part. Thus, a considerable disadvantage of the user caused by forced deletion by the original reading apparatus or the like applied to a misjudgment copy and a copy of inhibited original data or the like can be eliminated.
