To solve the problem that received facsimile data, image data held by scanning, or the like can not be transferred to a different facsimile machine or can not be transferred by e-mail by using a portable terminal in an image forming apparatus.

The image forming apparatus is provided with a data browsing part for reducing stored image data so that an external terminal including a portable terminal can browse the reduced image data, a job setting part for setting a job which transmits predetermined image data and character data from a browsed image to a different facsimile machine, transmits them as e-mail and transfers them as a file, and an executing part for executing the job. Job setting includes a method of using e-mail and a method for setting a job by using a form during browsing data.
