Abstract:

To provide an image forming apparatus having a cover of an image forming section which is opened and closed with good operability.

The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming section outputting an image to a recording paper; a cover rotatably supported to open the upper surface of the image forming section; and an image reading section arranged on the upper part of the image forming section. Further, the image forming apparatus includes: a support means supporting the image reading section to be vertically slidable; and an interlocking means for interlocking the rotation of the cover and the slide of the image reading section. The image reading section is retracted upward while being kept horizontally, along with opening of the cover.
