To provide an image forming device for forming an image on both sides of a material for transfer which is capable of favorably conveying the material for transfer to an image forming unit.
The image forming device includes: a storage part 52 for storing a sheet-like material T for transfer; an image forming unit GK arranged on the upper side in the vertical direction of the storage part 52 to form an image on the material T; a first conveying passage 521 which conveys the material T carried out from the storage part 52 to the image forming unit GK, and which has a horizontal conveying unit 528A formed across from one side to the other in the horizontal direction of a casing BD between the storage part 52 and the image forming unit GK; an inversion unit 560 for inverting the material T carried out from the image forming unit GK in a surface-to-back manner; and a recycle conveying passage 523 which conveys the material T to be inverted in the surface-to-back manner by the inversion unit 560, and which is merged to the upstream side in the conveying direction D1 of the horizontal conveying unit 528A.
