Abstract:
To suppress wasteful power consumption while suppressing reverse transcription in a monochrome printing.
In the monochrome printing, control means performs an energy saving control to make an absolute value of a charging bias, which is applied to charging means (charged wires 52WM and 52WC) corresponding to downstream-side second photosensitive drums 51M and 51C excluding an uppermost-stream-side second photosensitive drum 51Y out of the plurality of second photosensitive drums 51Y, 51M, and 51C, smaller than that in the color printing, and smaller than the absolute value of the charging bias to be applied to charging means (a charged wire 52WY) corresponding to the uppermost-stream-side second photosensitive drum 51Y.
