To provide an image forming apparatus capable of outputting a satisfactory image where an appropriate image processing has been carried out with respect to each imaging area in accordance with an output setting of a document image without carrying out processing which makes the document image read repeatedly.
An image forming apparatus comprises: a pre-image-processing part 210 which determines image information with respect to each of a plurality of areas 202 and 204 in a document image 200 read by a document reading part 150, and image information of the whole document image 200; an HDD 216 which stores the document image 200 and all the image information of the imaging areas 202 and 204 together with the document image; and a display part 222 and image output part 158 which are capable of outputting either of the areas 202 and 204 and the document image 200 according to the setting, and which perform image processing where each of the image information of the areas 202 and 204 is applied to the areas, and where the image information of the document image 200 is applied to the document image 200, and output the image.
