To provide an image forming apparatus for which input of a job again is not necessary even when a power source switch is cut off by an operation error of a user when running noise is reduced.
A control section determines whether or not a quiet mode is chosen (step S20). When determined that the quiet mode is chosen, next, whether or not a data input exists is determined (step S22). When determined that the data input exists, next, whether or not an image data input exists is determined (step S24). When determined that the image data input exists, the data is stored to HDD76. When determined that no image data input exists, the data is stored to a flash memory. When determined that the quiet mode is not chosen, a normal mode is continued (step S30). When determined that the data input exists (YES in step S32), next, the data is stored to a DRAM72 which is a volatile memory. Then the process is terminated.
