A printer 500 having double-sided printing function includes: a fixing unit 141 that fixes developer to a recording medium; a data analysis part 120 that determines whether or not a print job requires double-sided printing; a control part 130 that detects the number of the printed recording medium; and a temperature control part 132 that controls temperature of the fixing unit 141 based on the determination result by the data analysis part 120 and the detection result by the control part 130.
