To provide an image forming apparatus capable of sorting printed matters to a condition in which the distribution work can be done easily and outputting it even when the number of copies is different in different rows in distributing the printed matter to each row for seats arranged in a plurality of rows.
The selection of the arrangement information of seats arranged in a plurality of rows is accepted by a distribution information selection input screen displayed in a touch panel 11, and, on the basis of the selected arrangement information, printing matters for the number of seats is caused to be printed sequentially in the unit of the number of copies and, based on the selected arrangement information, the printed matter is sorted in the unit of a row and output. Also, the selection of a sorting method by the unit of the number of copies and a sorting method by the unit of a row is accepted by a sorting method selection input screen displayed in the touch panel 11, and by the selected sorting method in the unit of the number of copies and sorting method in the unit of a row, sorting treatment by the unit of the number copies and sorting treatment by the unit of a row are performed for outputting the printed matter.
