An image forming apparatus capable of carrying out either a monochrome print mode or a color print mode comprises: a first photoreceptor drum 51A (first photoreceptor) configured to contact a sheet of paper S and transfer a black developer image to the sheet of paper S; a plurality of second photoreceptor drums 51b (second photoreceptors) provided so as to correspond to respective colors other than black, and configured to contact the sheet of paper S and transfer developer images of the corresponding colors to the sheet of paper S; a fixing unit 80 configured to fix the developer images transferred to the sheet of paper S; a first conveyance path extending through the fixing unit 80 after the sheet of paper S to be conveyed during execution of the color print mode contact the first photoreceptor drum 51A and the plurality of second photoreceptor drums 51B; and a second conveyance path B extending through the fixing unit 80 without contacting the second photoreceptor drums 51B after the sheet of paper S to be conveyed contacts the first photoreceptor drum 51A during execution of the monochrome print mode.
