To solve a problem caused when horizontally ejecting droplets and forming an image, in which the exhaust of air from a head-tank cannot be conducted efficiently.
An image forming apparatus includes: a plurality of on-off valves 25 having openings 26 in communication with a connection flow path 38 constituting an air bubble exhaust path connected to an air exhaust port 19 of a head-tank 35 and opened in the same direction as the nozzle opening direction, and disposed at a different position in the vertical direction at the side of nozzle arrays 27; exhaust caps 48 covering a plurality of openings 26 for capping; a suction pump 43 in communication with the exhaust cap 48 and sucking the inside of the exhaust caps 48; and a valve drive pin 49 for opening and closing the on-off valves 25. The exhaust cap 48 is provided with the valve drive pin 49 and a suction port 60H connecting with a suction pump 42. The suction port 60H is provided at the position higher than the opposed position opposing the opening 26K at the top in the vertical direction among the plurality of openings 26.
