Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stabilizing transferability by correcting transfer failure due to a difference in circumferential speed between two rotating bodies that are controlled to be driven to rotate independently from each other and a speed difference of which at a contact part of the two rotating bodies in contact with each other becomes zero.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 200 includes a control unit 2 having a CPU 2A. The CPU 2A sets a target value in a rotary encoder 11 for matching process speeds of a photoconductor drum 100 and an ITB 107 during normal print operation, from a detection value of the rotary encoder 11 of the photoconductor drum 100 in a state where the photoconductor drum 100 is driven to rotate by the ITB 107 at a contact surface of the photoconductor drum 100 and the ITB 107, and then controls a brushless DC motor 5 so as to acquire the target value.
