Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for recording in-process data on a non-volatile storage device when power failure is detected, while solving the following problems: cost increases when the capacity of a primary smoothing capacitor of a power source that generates a DC voltage from an AC power source is increased for securing the recording time of data; or sufficient recording time cannot be secured.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a first power source for generating a DC voltage from an AC power source, and a second power source for generating a DC voltage from an output thereof. A storage device operates with the output from the second power source. An output voltage of the second power source is switched when power failure of the AC power source is detected, to record in-process data or the like on the storage device.
