Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses exposure of a non-volatile carrier liquid remaining in a fixed image.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus comprising: image holding bodies that hold electrostatic latent images; developing devices that store a developer including a toner and a non-volatile carrier liquid and develop the electrostatic latent images formed on the image holding bodies with the developer; transfer devices that transfer toner images obtained through development performed by the developing devices to a non-permeable recording medium; a fixing device that fixes the toner images transferred by the transfer devices to the non-permeable recording medium; and a coating layer forming device that forms a coating layer including a material having affinity to the non-volatile carrier liquid on the fixed image of the toner images fixed by the fixing device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
