Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect deflection of recording paper with a simple structure.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 has a pickup roller 12, a distance sensor S1, and a determination section 52. The pickup roller 12 supplies recording paper P in the uppermost part out of recording paper P layered on a paper-feeding cassette 11. The distance sensor S1 is arranged in a housing in which the paper-feeding cassette 11 is stored, and detects a distance L with an upper face of the recording paper P in the uppermost part. The determination section 52 determines a maximum value LX and a minimum value LN of the distance L detected by the distance sensor S1 before the taken out paper-feeding cassette 11 is mounted, and determines whether or not there is a deflection in the recording paper P layered on the paper-feeding cassette 11 based on the determined maximum value LX and minimum value LN.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
