PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean a transfer member to which a developer is fastened in a film form.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus (U) comprising: an image holding body (B) that holds a visible image formed of a developer; a transfer member (T2b) that is arranged opposite to the image holding body (B) and transfers the visible image on the image holding body (B) to a medium (S) passing through a transfer area (Q4) between the image holding body (B) and the transfer member; and a cleaning member (21) that cleans the transfer member (T2b) while in contact with the transfer member (T2b), the cleaning member (21) being rotatably supported on a shaft (22) inclined with respect to the width direction of the transfer member (T2b).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
