Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can stabilize the behavior at the instance at which the rear end of a recording material passes through a transfer nip part to suppress the occurrence of image defects.SOLUTION: A control part, when a recording material to be conveyed is a recording material with high rigidity determined according to a predetermined reference from recording material information input from an input part, controls to reduce a conveyance speed of a fixing nip part so that the loop amount of the recording material is increased and part of the recording material is brought into contact with a guide member sandwiched at a transfer nip part from loop amount detection means, after the end of a section where the loop amount is maintained within a certain range and before the rear end of the recording material passes through the transfer nip part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
