Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress damage to a surface of a contact target member and prevent the occurrence of paper jam.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixing part including a fixing member that is arranged on a fixing surface side of a recording medium on which a toner image is formed, and a pressure member that is arranged on a side opposite to the fixing surface, applies pressure to the fixing member to form a fixing nip, and fixes the toner image to the recording medium; a separation member that is in contact with at least one contact target member of the fixing member and pressure member to separate the recording medium ejected from the fixing nip from the contact target member; and an air blowing part that blows air to the separation member to move the separation member from a separation position to be separated from the contact target member to a contact position to come into contact with the contact target member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
