Abstract:
To enable reduction of damage to a recording medium caused by remaining heat of a fixing part.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium having a configuration in which a base material and an adhesive layer are stacked on base paper, comprises: fixing means by which an image transferred onto the recording medium is fixed to the recording medium by heating the recording medium; separation means located further upstream in a conveyance direction than the fixing means, and configured to expose the base paper from a surface by separating the base material and the adhesive layer of the recording medium from the base paper in part of a section in the conveyance direction of the recording medium; and control means that controls conveyance of the recording medium and executes control such that the part of the section is stopped at a position facing the fixing means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
