Abstract:
To provide a configuration that can prevent a reduction in transfer image quality.SOLUTION: A cleaning blade is arranged downstream of a secondary transfer unit T2 with respect to the direction of rotation of an intermediate transfer belt 7, and is in contact with a surface of the intermediate transfer belt 7 to clean the surface. A fixing device 13 fixes, at the secondary transfer unit T2, a toner image to a recording material to which the toner image is transferred from the intermediate transfer belt 7. An exhauster 600 exhausts air between the secondary transfer unit T2 and the fixing device 13 to the outside. A sheet member SH is attached to the exhauster 600, and is arranged such that a longitudinal direction is along a width direction intersecting with the direction of rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 7, so as to face the surface of the intermediate transfer belt 7 between the secondary transfer unit T2 and the cleaning blade with a predetermined gap H1. The sheet member blocks air flowing from between the secondary transfer unit T2 and the fixing device 13 to the downstream in the direction of rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
