Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that comprises a fixing unit in which stable temperature control is realized.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 comprises a fixing unit 1 and a control unit 140. The fixing unit 1 has a heater 111, a driving unit 121, a thermo-sensitive body 341, and a PID control circuit 120. The PID control circuit 120 determines the power applied to the heater 111 according to a proportional term, an integration term, and a derivative term based on the difference between a target temperature and a detection temperature detected by the thermo-sensitive body 341 so as to match the temperature of the heater 111 with the target temperature, and controls the operation of the driving unit 121 according to the determined applied power. The control unit 140 sets the target temperature, a proportional gain, an integral gain, and a derivative gain to the PID control circuit 120, and as the rate of temperature rise of the heater 111 when the temperature of the heater 111 is increased is faster, controls to reduce the proportional gain, integral gain, and derivative gain.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
