Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and the control method therefor by which it is prevented that a unit changed to the power saving mode is started again just after the mode change.
SOLUTION: In the case that the transit condition to the power saving mode of any unit is established in response to the operating state of units 3-8 whose power is saved or a manual operation, a main control section 1 allows an operation display section 6 to display a message for confirmation by the user to the transition to the power saving mode via a control line B and after the user confirms it, any of the units 3-8 is transited to the power saving mode. In the case that the user instructs the transit to the power saving mode of any of the units 3-8 by manual operation, the main control section 1 detects the operating state of each unit via the control line B, discriminates whether or not there is any job relating to the unit transited to the power saving mode and the concerned unit is transited to the power saving mode.
