Abstract:
To specify the position of a recording medium being conveyed inside a device without providing a plurality of detecting sensors.
The image forming device 1 is provided with a control part 10, feeding cassettes 440 to 442, detecting sensors 510 to 512, and a motor 502. Timing when paper is conveyed from the feeding cassettes 440 to 442 are detected by the detecting sensors 510 to 512. The control part 10 measures the conveying time of the paper based on the timing and monitors overload of the motor 502 upon conveying the paper. Based on the conveying time of the paper at the time of detecting the overload of the motor 502, the position in a conveyance passage 6 where the paper is stuck is specified.
