Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately performing gradation correction from image data captured by an external apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 performs gradation correction for a gradation characteristic of an image forming unit 17. A test chart output unit 100 allows the image forming unit 17 to output a test chart including a plurality of colors of patches. An image data acquisition unit 110 acquires image data 500 obtained by simultaneously imaging the outputted test chart and a reference chart including the plurality of colors of patches having known color density. A distortion correction unit 120 corrects lens distortion contained in the image data 500. A projective transformation unit 130 performs projective transformation of the image data having corrected lens distortion. A patch region detection unit 140 detects a region of each patch from the image data 500 subjected to the projective transformation. A color value specification unit 150 specifies a color value from the region of each patch. A gradation correction data creation unit 160 creates gradation correction data 510 on the basis of the color value of each patch.
