Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control optimum transfer voltage for generating secondary transfer electric field in an image forming device using an intermediate transfer body.
SOLUTION: This device is equipped with a current/voltage detection circuit 6 detecting a current or voltage flowing between a secondary transfer roll 4 pressed to the toner image carrying surface of the intermediate transfer body 2 and a backup roll 5 set on an opposite side to the toner image carrying surface of the body 2, a transfer voltage arithmetic calculation circuit 7 calculating the appropriate transfer voltage corresponding to the detected current or voltage, a transfer voltage control circuit 8 applying the appropriate transfer voltage on the roll 4 based on the arithmetic calculation output from the circuit 7, and a transfer power source 9; and is equipped with an informing device AL inhibiting an image forming process in the case the detected current or voltage exceeds a specified range and informing a user of the effect as necessary.
