Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents erroneous detection of an abnormality in the concentration of toner with a simple method.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; a developing device that develops the electrostatic latent image on the image carrier into a toner image; a toner concentration detection unit that detects the concentration of toner in a developer in the developing device; a flowing unit that causes the developer in the developing device to flow; a stop period acquisition unit that acquires a stop period during which the flowing unit is stopped; and a toner concentration abnormality determination unit that determines whether the concentration of toner detected by the toner concentration detection unit falls within a predetermined range according to the length of the stop period acquired by the stop period acquisition unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
