To provide an image forming device in which potential by electrification on a drum is stably applied even in long-term use and scattering, the scraping of the drum and image defects such as fog, drops and voids are not caused.
The image forming device has a photoreceptor with an electrically conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer on the substrate, an electrifying means which brings an electrifying member into contact with the photoreceptor and applies voltage to electrify the photoreceptor, a latent image forming means which forms an electrostatic latent image an the photoreceptor by imagewise exposing the photoreceptor, a developing means which makes the latent image visible with a toner on a toner support to form a toner image and a transfer means which transfers the toner image to a transfer material. A magnetic brush comprising magnetic particles having 104-109 >cm volume resistance is used as the contact electrifying member. The toner comprises a polyester resin and a colorant and has 3-40 mgKOH/g acid value.
