Abstract:
To provide an image forming apparatus that does not require stirring of toner even for a character image and a line image with high coverage, and can prevent an inconvenience that concentration is reduced and unevenness in concentration occurs.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is configured to: determine whether the image information is a solid image from the attribute of image information; when determining that the image information is the solid image, calculate the solid ratio of the solid image; make a trial calculation of a solid printing rate representing whether the solid image is continuously printed, based on the calculated solid ratio; and when the solid printing rate exceeds a predetermined value, stir toner for a certain time in order to increase the amount of electrification of the toner with stirring means 3 that stirs low-electrified toner remaining in a developing unit 105 in a state in which an image forming operation is stopped; and subsequently resume the image forming operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
