A sequence is created for generating various status pages that include different conditions. Bitmap data of a correct status page, based on the sequence, is previously created by another image forming device which is verified for the validity of outputting of a status page. The status page based on the sequence is generated by an image forming device under verification. A comparison is made between the bitmap data and the bitmap data of the status page generated by the verified image forming device, and should there arise a difference between them, then the difference is recorded, and an automatic determination is made as to the validity of a status page.
