To provide an image forming device which forms an image on an intermediate transfer body, and then transfers the image on a recording medium such as paper, wherein the image forming device prevents degradation of the quality of the image formed on printed matter even if defective transfer occurs on the intermediate transfer body.

The image forming device is formed of a transfer drum 20, a liquid discharge section 12, a transfer condition detecting section 42, and an image correcting means. The transfer drum 20 has a transfer surface 20A to which liquid adheres, and the image to be transferred to the recording paper 16 is formed on the transfer surface 20A. The liquid discharge section 12 forms an image on the transfer surface 20A by depositing liquid on the transfer surface 20A of the transfer drum 20, based on predetermined image data. The transfer condition detecting section 42 detects the condition of the transfer surface 20A after the image formed on the transfer surface 20A of the transfer drum 20 is transferred to the recording paper 16. The image correcting means corrects the image data concerning the image formed on the transfer surface 20A, based on the condition of the transfer surface 20A, detected by the transfer condition detecting section 16.
