Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate incomplete start processing when power supply to an image forming device is stopped, and to reliably and normally start a circuit unit at the next start.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: a circuit unit that performs start processing and operates when power supply is started; an operation unit that accepts a switching instruction between a normal mode and a power saving mode; a power supply code connected to a supply source; a detection unit for detecting whether or not power is supplied to the image forming device; a power control unit that controls on/off of power supply to the circuit unit, supplies power to the circuit unit in the normal mode, stops power supply to all or part of the circuit unit in the power saving mode, and communicates with the circuit unit by starting power supply to the circuit unit in response to a transition instruction; and a power supply unit that supplies power to the circuit unit to which power supply is made in an on state. When the stop of power supply to the image forming device is detected, the power control unit does not start the circuit unit even if it accepts a transition instruction.
