Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the burden on a user at the time of resuming continuous printing, upon occurrence of document conveying jam in a document conveyance mechanism, or sheet conveying jam in an image formation unit.SOLUTION: A jam detector 301 detects document jamming or transferred body jamming based on the detection results of a document sensor 117 and detection results of a transferred body sensor 160. A resumption document specification unit 302 specifies a document for resuming the image reading, when document jamming or transferred body jamming is detected by the jam detector 301. A print resumption unit 303 requests remounting of all documents, that have been mounted on a document tray 111 at the time of starting continuous printing when the jam detector 301 detected document jamming or transferred body jamming. The print resumption unit 303 makes an image reading unit 120 read the document conveyed to an image reading position P and specified in the resumption document specification unit 302, and subsequent document images, and makes an image formation unit 140 print the document images on the transferred body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
