Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that enables an operator to accurately grasp the timing to replace drum units.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a plurality of drum units 10 each integrating a photoreceptor drum 101, and an IC chip 102 having a communication part 103 that performs communication with a control part through a communication line, an input part 104 that captures an external signal, and a storage part 105 that stores cumulative data and an identification code; a plurality of attachment parts 9 to which the respective drum units are removably attached; and information providing parts 92 that are provided in the respective attachment parts and provide information on the attachment parts to the IC chips of the drum units attached thereto. The IC chip rewrites the identification code in the storage part into an identification code corresponding to information captured by the input part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
