Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid, when stopping conveyance of a continuous recording material during the course of creating an image on the recording material, dirt on the recording material due to an unfixed image area.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a conveying part 1 that conveys a continuous recording material S; an image forming part 2 that creates an image on the recording material S; a fixing part 3 that fixes the image created on the recording material S; and an elimination mechanism 4 that, when the conveyance of the recording material S is stopped during the course of the image formation, folds a portion of the recording material S in which an unfixed image before passage through the fixing part 3 is held so that the image is on the inside of the recording material and enables elimination of the portion as a defective area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
