Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute ozoneless injection electrification at low applied voltage by using a simple electrifying member such as an electrifying roller without causing trouble and to maintain high-quality image formation over a long term in an image forming device in which an image carrier is electrified by a contact electrifying device.
SOLUTION: Electrification accelerating particles (m) are interposed at least at a nip part (a) between the image carrier 1 and the electrifying member 2, included in a developer 31 in a developing device 3 and supplied to the nip part between the member 2 and the image carrier 1 through the surface of the image carrier 1 from the device 3. Developing bias used in the case of development includes an AC component, and the AC component satisfies t1>t2 when it is assumed that an electrifying polarity electrified by the particles (m) in the device 3 is (q), the rate of the time occupied in one AC cycle by the same pole side as the polarity (q) of the AC component of the developing bias is t1, and the rate of the time occupied in one AC cycle by a pole side different from the polarity (q) of the AC component of the developing bias is t2.
